Nicolas Ilg

Nicolas brings 9 years of finance experience as an investor in public and private markets, as well as an executive at high growth companies. He joined Segue after graduating from his MBA at UC Berkeley Haas, where he earned the Michaels Certificate in Sustainability for his focus on financing assets that drive decarbonization. 

During his MBA, Nicolas worked with Redwood Materials on Corporate Development projects and supporting the funding of the largest battery materials facility in the US with an estimated cost of $4.5b. 

Prior to coming to the US, he was on the founding team at Resilia, a Brazilian education startup where he raised $2.5m from equity and debt investors to scale the company to $1m+ revenues. 

He worked for 5 years at IP Capital Partners, a $700m fund investing globally in quality companies. He became a junior partner covering insurance and retail sectors, as well as trading $1b+ a year in stocks and future contracts. 

Nicolas started his career at 16 years old as a professional sailor on Brazil’s Olympic Team.
